PayPal Restrictions in India Already in Effect?

The other day, I wrote about the impending restrictions that PayPal will impose on its users in India. These restrictions are actually put in place to comply with the requirements from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the country’s central bank.

Earlier tonight, I tried to send payment via PayPal mass pay to an Indian webmaster, but I kept getting the following error message.

There are error(s) that occur on the following lines and fields of your payment file.

* Line 1 : Currency type, Payment amount
* Line 2 : Email address

Click How to upload for more information on formatting payment files.

I tried several times, but it wouldn’t go through. The mass pay CSV file that I was using was perfect, no errors. In the end, I had to use regular PayPal payment to complete the transaction.

paypal sucks PayPal Restrictions in India Already in Effect?PayPal announced on its website that the restrictions will be in effect starting March 1, 2011. It’s not even March yet, but it’s already tough for Indian webmasters and merchants to receive PayPal payments. It’s going to be even tougher when the restrictions are actually in effect.

With PayPal virtually unusable in India, I am wondering how Indian webmasters will be able to stay in business online. There are, of course, PayPal alternatives out there. But can they actually replace PayPal? Will business be the same to Indian webmasters and online merchants without PayPal? Probably not.

PayPal Restrictions for India Users from RBI

An Indian webmaster who buys domain names and other services from me just informed me via chat that starting March 1st, 2011, he won’t be able to use PayPal anymore to pay me. He’s one of probably hundreds of Indian webmasters that I do business with. That means that if they take a hit, so will I, because I will be losing a certain percentage of my buyers.

paypal icon PayPal Restrictions for India Users from RBIApparently, the Reserve Bank of India, India’s central bank, has imposed some restrictions on how PayPal users in India can use the money in their PayPal accounts. These new regulations will be in effect starting March 1st, 2011.

PayPal made an announcement on its website and listed the following restrictions:

  • Any balance in and all future payments into your PayPal account may not be used to buy goods or services and must be transferred to your bank account in India within 7 days from the receipt of confirmation from the buyer in respect of the goods or services; and
  • Export-related payments for goods and services into your PayPal account may not exceed US$500 per transaction.

Simply put, whatever money our Indian webmaster friends make online, they must withdraw. They are not allowed to use their PayPal money to purchase products or services online. This kind of defeats the primary purpose of having a PayPal account, doesn’t it?

If you are an Indian merchant and you’re selling export related goods (for example, jewelry, bags, anything that may be considered for export), you can accept payments via PayPal only if the sale price is US$500 or less. I guess that rules out the possibility of buying a Ferrari from India online.

PayPal Alternatives for Indian Webmasters

With PayPal almost impossible to use in India, what PayPal alternatives do Indian webmasters have? Here’s what I can think of that I have already tried:

  • Moneybookers
  • AlertPay
  • Western Union (a bit inconvenient because the recipient needs to actually go to a Western Union branch to claim the money)

Any other suggestions for PayPal alternatives?

Traffic Ultimatum: Scam or The Real Deal?

In my quest to make money online, I have fallen victim to a few Internet marketing and ebook schemes that were completely worthless. I already knew the marketing methods, tricks, or techniques that these guys were talking about, but they made it sound like they were referring to something nobody had ever done before.

Back then, I really wanted to be able to make money online and I was naive, so I took the bait (like most newbies do) and found out for myself what a complete idiot I was to fall for those scams. After a while, I came to accept that these “mistakes” are part of the learning process and the money I wasted buying those worthless ebooks is the “tuition fee” that I have to pay to  learn the tips and tricks in Internet marketing and making money online.

George Brown Who?
So over the past week, I’ve been hearing about George Brown’s Traffic Ultimatum. I didn’t know who George Brown was and, when I first visited his website (www.trafficultimatum.com) and saw his video, I was laughing my ass off because it looked so fake — he’s a kid but his voice sounds like James Earl Jones’s. I thought it was voice dubbing gone wrong. Hilarious!

Why I Decided to Try Traffic Ultimatum
Like I said earlier, I’ve become wary of Internet Marketing schemes like this one because of the negative experiences I had before. But I kept hearing about Traffic Ultimatum all week long. So I decided to take a closer look at George Brown‘s website.

At $197, Traffic Ultimatum is expensive. This was one of the factors that was holding me back. What if this is another scam? What if I’m not able to make money after I duplicate the methods that George Brown describes in the ebook?

Then I saw something else on the website — 60-day money back guarantee. That means that if I am not happy with Traffic Ultimatum, I can get my money back within 60 days after my purchase.

With that 60-day money back guarantee, plus all the hype I’ve been hearing on the Internet, I decided to take the bait. This better be good, Georgie boy!

My Initial Review
At this point, things are looking great. I’ve gone over the Table of Contents of the three ebooks that are included, and they look pretty comprehensive. There are around 20 videos that I’m hoping to be full of new stuff I could use for niche marketing.

I have to admit that there are quite a few methods in Traffic Ultimatum that I have not heard before.  For example, I didn’t know that you could buy links on YouTube videos that are getting lots of hits. I didn’t think about that.

I’ve only gotten halfway through the first ebook called “The Foundation” and I’m already learning lots of new stuff (at least new to me). Stuff like finding a niche using Google Trends, Yahoo! Buzz, Amazon Bestsellers, to name a few. These are all new to me. Up until now, I’ve only been using Google AdWords Keyword Tool and Market Samurai (another great keyword research tool).

So far so good. I’m actually learning new stuff that can help me make more money online.

They say the only people who actually make money online are the people who tell other people how to make money online. I used to believe this, but things are looking up with a few new tricks I’ve learned from Traffic Ultimatum.

I’ll continue reading Traffic Ultimatum and I’ll keep you posted on what I think about it as a traffic generation system.

Earning Online with Google AdSense

Google AdSense is undoubtedly a sensible way to begin making money online. One of the main benefits of beginning with AdSense is that you are working with a company that is hugely popular in Google. This then means there are few problems likely to arise over payment and their support is largely outstanding.

A further advantage of beginning with AdSense is that the income is essentially done on autopilot. Clearly there is a need to maintain high levels of traffic coming to the site and also supply regular content, however once you have established the site as one with plenty of organic traffic you will notice you are earning on a daily basis with AdSense.

AdSense is also the best paying pay-per-click network. There are other similar types of networks, including Yahoo’s own, as well as a considerable number of largely unknown networks, though they pay considerably less than AdSense. This is largely due to the fact that Google has a massive reputation amongst advertisers and the significant amount of traffic (and therefore searches) is a big plus for advertisers.

Another advantage of AdSense is the ease with which the income can be scaled. For instance, if you are new to the making money online concept then you might opt to create a website with the intention of becoming accustomed to the process of setting up a website and generating traffic. Once you have achieved this you can then monetize this site through AdSense, whilst also being able to apply the techniques you have learnt to another website in order to increase your income. Indeed, the individuals who experience the most success with AdSense tend to have a vast number of websites to their name, each of which contributing a little to the overall income as they are setup on a huge scale.

A further benefit of using AdSense is that it is easy to setup. Providing your site contains quality content then your account will almost definitely be approved within 48 hours. Then, once you have been approved you will be provided with a code to include on your site and, once you have implemented this code, Google will begin to generate relevant ads on your site. Some people include AdSense on their site even if it is setup for another specific purpose – for instance, a website marketing a Clickbank product. People consider AdSense to be easy to setup and therefore think little of including AdSense to their site in an attempt to increase their income.

Completely Risk-Free Methods to Make Money Online

Every day, many newcomers to the world of online business get sucked in by ineffective money making schemes.  Often times, they will sign up to join a money making systems that “guarantee” that they will earn tons of cash fast, but before the realize they have been had, their ROI has flatlined and they have lost a good chunk of money they worked so hard to earn.

Many beginning business owners have no idea how difficult it is to start up a business without a certain knowledge base, how to operate it, or how to choose suitable programs.  Be safe. Here are a few tips on how to make money online.

  • First and foremost, the beginning marketer needs to concentrate on picking the correct programs.  The following will give you an idea on how to spot a scam.  Stay away from showy websites that only scroll in one direction.  And, if that website is covered with dollar signs, luxury automobiles, and “get rich quick” statements, click away from that page as fast as you can.  If you do find a website that seems legit, make sure they have real contact information by performing a whois search.  Also, read any reviews on that website or system that you can find, and look to see if it has a shared IP address.  Any shared IP addresses usually belong to a scammer.  Then, take a look at their domain name; if it has only been registered to them for less than a year, there is a high chance they will go out of business and take your money with them, leaving you at square one, but with less cash.  So, choose a system that has been in operation for a while and has received positive reviews because fairly new systems can be unpredictable: either they will sink or they will swim.  However, there are new start-ups out there that have great potential for success; it is entirely your decision if you can take that risk.
  • Other characteristics to keep in mind are sites with top-notch webinars, experts that are easy to contact, understandable training materials, and quality customer service.  It is imperative to have a good leader for support in order to succeed.  There are quite a few marketers with certain talents already ingrained inside of them, but everyone needs a mentor to assist them in sharpening the tools they already possess.
  • Do not forget to look over your budget.  Never spend more than you can afford; dip your foot in the water before you dive in.
  • Understand how to advertise your Web site.  It makes no difference if it is attractive, organized, and professional because if no one knows your site exists, you will not even have a chance to make it.  You must have traffic flow.  So, I suggest that any new marketer should first utilize free advertising before using ones that cost money.  There are many online resources that can explain how to advertise your site for free.
  • Lastly, stay with one program for a while.  Do not hop from one to the next; be patient because advertising can take time.  It can be several months before search engines pick up your website if you use free advertising.

Time, determination, hard work, and investment are the keys to success.  Making money through the internet is harder than most people think, but as long as you continue to put your nose to the grindstone, you can accomplish your goals.
