So after the holiday shopping was over, we were going over our credit card bills to make sure there aren’t any purchases that we didn’t actually make. Then I came across this entry in my credit card statement:

As far as I know, I’ve never shopped at a store or website called ON Online, so naturalIy, I was suspicious. I did some digging and it turned out that ON Online is actually the Old Navy (ON) website. We did buy some kids’ stuff from the Old Navy website before Christmas. So mystery solved.
That said, it’s still good practice to review your credit card statement regularly, especially for the credit cards that you use online. For buying stuff online, I usually use the credit card with the lowest credit limit — so online thieves won’t get much if they actually manage to steal my credit card information. There are a lot of scammers out there — especially on the Internet. So shop safely!
